The DRC has been one of the top 5 poorest countries in the world for decades. 72% of the population lives below the poverty line and the average income fluctuates between $1.00 and $1.50 per day. Ravaged by warlords, disease, economic instability, and lack of services, this population constitutes some of the most desolate and needy among humanity. Nevertheless, the Gospel of Jesus has brought life, hope, development, and sustainability to many communities. MercyGift has partnered with indigenous pastors to bring medical aid, micro business development, and leadership training across the country.
